I have a '39 Chevy Master 85 and I am considering installing Chassis Engineering's front and rear suspension. Does anyone have any experience they can share?

Never installed one, but have seen them on '39 Chevs. My only gripe was the same as others who bought the front crossmember; it's only the crossmember. You still have to buy all the rest of the parts to complete the kit. So expect it will likely end up double the $1000 price for the crossmember once you've purchased the rest, unless you find a donor Pinto or Mustang II to get some parts that can be rebuilt and added to it.

Everything is expensive these days. Another $1000 doesn't sound too bad!

They are a bolt in crossmember, so don't really need fabrication skills. But I would consider maybe some tack welds if I was using it myself.

It's also a good idea with these frames to tack a brace across the ends of the frame rails once you've determined it's square. Once you remove the stock Master Deluxe crossmember, or remove the straight axle setup things can shift, so a piece of box tubing tacked to the bottom or even bolted to the frame lips will hold it square as you start installation of a MII crossmember system.

most everything that is a bolt on needs upgrading. bolt ons are the way they are so most people can do it. i always upgrade.

Heck, even Chevy made the Master Deluxe front suspension and crossmember a bolt on from the factory! I think I counted 22 bolts holding the crossmember onto the frame when I removed mine early in my build!
