Question #1
When I turn on my 1955 Chevy headlights, my volt gauge drops and bounces from 14 to 12.5 back and forth when I turn on my parking lights and/or headlights. I replaced my alternator and that did not fix the issue. Chasing the problem now, but I suspect it's the headlight switch or the headlight relay. Anyone else experience this issue or have any suggestions?

Question #2
Thinking about upgrading my old halogen 2D1 headlights to a new LED asseblies, want to increase my visability at night. I like the OEM chrome / clear style headlight look, not the halo with the black bucket look. More watts the better.

Something like this...

What original style LED headlight assembly do you recommend?

You may have a short in the headlight wiring, causing the circuit breaker in the headlight switch to open and close. Does it do it in high and low beam?

new problem? kindah depends on how your car is wired. do your headlights have big wire upgrades with a relay close by? did you verify voltage with a meter at different points?

Stock wiring has no relays.

You don't say if the headlights go out or just dim when the voltmeter changes.
Do you have an internal or external regulated alternator?

I suspect it's the headlight switch. Will report back soon

Do I correctlyremember a small fuse in my original headlight switch?

The small 3 amp fuse on 55/56 headlight switche was for the dash lights only. The 2 thermal circuit breakers on the switch protected the rest of the lights.
