The 76 Impala is in good shape. I don't plan to use it in winter where we use salt to melt the filthy white carp.
With that said there's still rain and periodic washing. Should I get the underbody oil sprayed? We have a "Krown" rust sprayer here in town and I've used their services on my daily driver without bad side effects.
I've seen when oil spray leaves ugly dark stains on the bottom of doors, etc... and I don't want that.
Has anyone else done some rustproofing underbody treatment to their car which has worked out well?

id vote to use wax myself. You might still see those stains you referred to, but that should be easily cleaned off when the dust sticks to it.

Waxing, indeed that goes without saying. But I was referring to the undercarriage protection since these cars back in the day didn't have any sort of rust protection.

When ever I hear talk of rust-proofing I think back to the Jeep Wagoneer I seen on a used car lot many moons ago. Had a Ziebart rustproofing decal in the window, looked underneath and the floor pan was rotted out. Rust proofing is only as good as the person applying it and IMO those are few and far between.
