I have a 55 Belair SM with a stock 3 speed overdrive Transmission.It always has and still works good with one recent exception.If it is in overdrive, overdrive lever pushed into overdrive position, with the engine off the car should roll when parked unless the shift lever is in reverse. It has always acted that way until recently. It will not roll, so it will not free wheel in first when parked as this overdrive should.Everything else works as it should. It shifts into overdrive and it freewheels at low speeds and I can shift without the clutch before overdrive kicks in.Don't know what may have happened. Any input appreciated. Thanks.

I think you should count your lucky stars. Why would you want it to roll free wheel when parked?
If it was mine, I wouldn't.

if i recall correctly, thats how that type of trans works.
