I bought a 57 Belair with no upholstery. I have all the front and back seat springs/frames/tracks, and will be building up the seats with new original repro upholstery. I can do that, but since I don't have the original seat covers to go by, I need to know how the silver seat back buttons, that a Belair has, are installed. Long ago, I measured the locations of the buttons from a set of good 57 seats, so I know where to put them, but I need to know the procedure for installing the buttons. Thanks!

I tied mine to the springs, pulled the strings tight enough to get the correct depression.

Thanks a lot for your reply! So, I guess you pulled the covers over the springs to get them positioned, and after that were able to pull the rear cover back up enough to reach the button strings and tie them?
