On my 1970 chevy 350 engine, stock heads,what is the thickness of gasket should I use and brand name. Only replacing the gasket for one cylinder head.

Assuming it's stock from day one, an oe replacement FelPro will do the job.

Why can't you measure the old one that was removed? Certainly can identify the gasket type and perhaps a PN. Or you may be able to use a shim gage on the other head to measure the COMPRESSED thickness.
Barring the above replace them both with a set. Generally the gaskets come in pairs.

you need to measure the piston to deck height. you probly have the wrong gasket on there.
