My 55 210 2 door came to me with custom interior, therefore missing many original parts, including interior trim, which I am slowly collecting.

BUT I am finding another odd discrepancy.
I need to replace the rotten plywood;
The width of my cutout for the spare tire well matches the 34" in the drawing,
BUT
my section of Stainless trim is too wide, see photo, it measures 34-1/8" wide. Explanation?????
Unfortunately I do not have the corresponding trim piece that mounts onto the spare tire cover.
