Got a ‘57 Belair convertible with original generator. What’s the battery recommendation? Has a bad NAPA “The Legend” no. 7524 in it now, which I’m guessing is sealed lead acid from my web research plus the top is sealed. I’ve been told sealed lead acid is the same as AGM , which I question. Tried the search engine here to no avail. Being new to the site, I probably don’t know what I’m doing.

An AGM battery is different than your battery. I have a 24 series battery in my 51. How old is your battery, date is stamped on the case.

I also needed a battery for the 57 that I just recently purchased. I got a group 24 battery for it and it is just fine.

Don’t see anything stamped on the case. At the bottom right side of the main label on the front side, it has 3-8671 It also has a label on the side with A6 on it ?? 4-1295 is beside the bar code on the S/N label. Of course they did not scratch out the month/year stickers on top. I know it’s bad as it is leaking and bulging on both ends.
