Hi
I’m newly registered here. My car is a 76 Impala 5th generation.
I need to access and replace the lightbulbs for the speedometer as well as pull the original AM radio and get it repaired then reinstall it.
How do I access the lightbulbs which pretend to illuminate at night? And how do I carefully remove the original AM radio without causing any damage?
Thank you,
geo

From what I recall, you have to remove that trim around the instrument cluster in order to have access to get the instrument cluster out of the dash assy.
People fear change because it threatens what they know, or what they claim to know. |

Above is correct. that is how the cluster will come out so you can access the bulbs.
I did this on mine to clean up the clear plastic cover on mine.
As for the radio i think i just pulled the knobs off the front to access the nuts that hold the front of the unit in.
Then there was a bracket that holds up the rear of the unit that i had to remove as well.
Only advice i can give is to take your time. Take pictures as you take it apart incase you dont remember how it goes to put back in.
On mine the plastic was starting to become brittle. Tightening the screws to much when re installing could cause some cracking.
