Does someone know the weight of a 235 chevy engine (including starter, generator, carb, air cleaner)? I bought one on eBay and am trying to find out the weight for shipping purposes. Is there a website with this information?

Thanks,
Sanjay

Someone posted this question before. I believe the general concensus was that the block itself weighs about 650 pounds + another 100 - 125 pounds for all the accouterments.

In other words... it's HEAVY!

Good luck!

I shipped one that I had sold on Ebay a few months ago and it was 735 pounds. It was complete, but had an alternator rather than a generator...........boy that sucked.......still trying to get rid of the headache it gave me!

What does a complete 235 sell for on e-bay? Can you give a ball-park figure?

Me too. But it was enlightening to take out my 261 and the little crane burping oil everywhere. And then take it to the machinist with the head off, and even so going to the bump stops of my Caddy Catera´s brother, the Opel. I believe in 800 pounds complete.
