    In response to motorhead_83

the answer is no not normally but there is a qualifying statement i need to tell you,most chevy engines are non interference but if your travelling at highway speeds about 55 or faster and the timing chain jumps time the valves will float out at that rpm and the pistons will hit and bend them,at low speed it will never happen.now you have both sides of the coin.
