I have a 1983 Chevy K10, has a 305 chevy and auto tranny. I have issues with the number 5 and number 8 plug fouling out, "i think" the engine is stock, compresson is 170 +/- 10 psi every cylinder, has the stock 4bbl QuadJet, stock heads, no headers... so i mean stock as much as stock can be. I have changed the wires, the plugs, hotter plugs, chaged the distrib cap, and internal componets, heck i even swapped distrib with my other 84 Chevy K10. Can anyone have this problem? Is there something wrong with the heads? or is the cam worn out? All the valves open and close as the should. And if you clean the plug the truck seems to run great for about 10-20 minutes, then those two plug foul. all the others look BRand new. Any clues? or hints i can get would be really helpful

Foul out as in gas or oil?
What exactly does the plug look like after it's fouled?

Need to know what you mean by "fouled-out"
--
Is this just the plugs getting wet or is there greasy carbon on them, or you just getting a miss....??
--
Is this puppy computer controlled..??

--
Possabilities include:

Flat-Cam lobes on intakes of the two cylinders...(exhaust would "pop-back" in the intake manifold) symtom..Miss, possibly wet, fuel fouled plugs or plugs that look like they have never been in an engine..

Leaking intake-gaskets at the bottom of the intake ports..(greasy carbon on plugs)

Bad intake valve "O"-rings and valve seals..(greasy carbon on plugs)

An EGR problem.. #5 and #8 are fed off the same part of the intake manifold (lean-miss)

A carb problem, including a "leaking-carb base-gasket" (quit common with Q'jets) ... same reason/sympton..

The vacuum-tap on the manifold behind the carb is broken or leaking..same reason/symptom

I'm going to take a guess at this ,but I think you have a couple valve seal's that have worn out (you didn't say mileage).
Bet if you remove the valve cover's that you find the rear oil return hole's plugged or partially plugged and the puddle of oil is leaking past the rearmost valve seal's.
Surprised that #7's not getting fouled ,too.

the plugs are dry black "coated" the engine begins to miss, can take spark plug wires off and no noticable change in idle acceleceraton. the egr vacuum hose is MIA atm. not computer controlled in any manner.

You say the EGR vacuum hose is MIA??? This could also cause problems. Sounds like you have carbon build up in EGR ports and its bleeding back to your cylinders.
My truck is a lot of work...but it will be a work of art!! 81 K5 Blazer new 305/350. Lots of work to do...
