I just picked up a 78 K5 Blazer 4x4 with a new motor, tranny. transfer case, and a 2" lift kit. I bought it as a motor/tranny donor for one of my projects, but I'm thinking about utilizing some of the other parts.

Would a 1970 C10 Shortbed Stepside body fit the blazer chassis well?

Thanks!

Blazer chassis are shorter than your C10. You can make it work out good but it would probably be best to lengthen the Blazer Chassis. I used a 77 chassis and had to shorten it a tad for my 67 stepside.

Blazer frame is 6" shorter than short bed, (109" WB for Blazer, 115" WB for shortbox).

ok thanks.. What would it take to swap the drivetrain & suspension out of the 78 blazer 4x4 into the 70 c10 shortbed?

it would take alot of rivet cutting and frame rail hole drilling and measuring, its not fun, you would also need to swap all the body mount frame brackets over, including rad support ones and everything from the blazer chassis, you will be better off just finding a 72-older 4x4 chassis, the wheelbases changed n 73, everything got lengthened almost half a foot in 73, blazers included.

good luck

What I meant in my second post was can the 78 blazer 4x4 front crossmember/suspension/engine/tran/transer case be installed on the 70 c10 frame?

I also have a 66 c10 with a 71 c1o front crossmember and suspension and the swap was a piece of cake (2WD)

Thanks again. Chevytalk rules.
