I have a documented 1961 Chevrolet Biscayne Fleetmaster. It was featured in Super Chevy in Nov.09. New to this site so I thought I might ask if anyone has more info on these cars. Seems like the place to be for answers. I have done pretty extensive research but still have questions about how many Fleetmasters were made with the 409 and how many are left and if there is anyone out there that has one 6 cyl or 8. There are a couple extra parts I have been looking for that I can not find like the back window gasket and rubber floor coverings. Anyone that has any info on this type it would be appreciated. I have had the car for 36 years. 22,000 miles on the car..

Yes I do but unsure how to put them up. I even have pictures of it in the National Dragster Aug 11th 1961 issue. It won the 1962 Winters not with the 409 but a 348. The 409 was blown up not long after he had it so the Salem Oregon Speed Shop put a 348 in it for him to race that race in E/S. I won the AHRA world Finals with the car 20 years later in 1982. Found the original owners about 3 years ago and now have 5 documented letters and old time pictures of it. About ready to hit the sack tonight but if someone can leave a message how to post a picture or two I will do it tomorrow. Not good on a computer so be nice..

Here a link on posting photos on chevytalk, sounds like a great car, great piece of history. http://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/showtopic.php?ti...
1960 Bel-air, 355 4-speed, 5.13s. Drive it like ya stole it! Old school, before the bandwagon came by. I "was" the chosen one. I broke the chains that bound me, and they snapped back and hit me in the head.

The picture came out way to small. Not good on these computer things. But the picure of it is the Aug.11th 1961 National Dragster paper. It states if you could read it "Alan May of Junction City Or. Beating the crowds favorite The Popes factory 1961 Ford with his haulin 1961 Chevrolet 409. I will see if I can post a different picture or two...

Thanks. Been a fun car for a lot of years. I am half way ok restoring this thing back (thank god I have left it pretty much the way it came) but not very good at it. Might have to get advice from some of you from time to time to help out. Getting parts has been a real challenge like the back window rubber and rubber floor covering is two of the biggies. But other than that we will see what time can do.

There is a guy on 348-409 who has a 61 Biscayne like that, he just redid his car and may know about the rear window gasket.

The rubber floor you find from time to time on ebay, they are likely the same for any 61, 2 door or 4 door, maybe 62 as well.
Check here on the 58-60 section, there have been several people who were looking for rubber floors, you may find an ebay link that will help. Those I have seen for sale are usually from sellers who buy up a whole bunch and they may have a 61 as well. They fit from other GM's too of the same year.

Out of two years looking you got me on a track for the floor coverings. One lead lead to another and I think maybe I found what I need. Will know more tomorrow. Evidently the guy has a ware house full of things like that but really do not have much info as of yet. Let everyone know. I cannot be the only one looking for rubber floor coverings.

Best of luck. I've been looking for the rubber floor covering for my '62 Biscayne 2-door for a long time. I'm not having the same luck as you going through the other forums. I spent a lot of time searching but apparently haven't used the right combination of words. Any tip you can provide to get me closer to a source would be very much appreciated!!!

Well I found the front mat that is in the color I need and a rear in the wrong color. They are new in the box and has never been used. As soon as I get my mat shipped and checked out I will put out the info on him. He has a lot of NOS items but not all Chev. I will post all info when I feel everything is well and good and feel confident I am not giving out info on someone with a not so good product and people getting mad at me.. Trust me I will get back to all of you as soon as I look at the stuff that is hopefully being sent. Could be 10 days...Hopefull be helpful to some..Some parts are sure getting hard to come by... Thanks. Just hang on. I hate holding the info but would feel worse if all this is phony & get goose chases going that I cannot stop. But what I know he is legit so hopefully I will have a place some of you might be interested in looking and finding some parts. Most all NOS. I will be posting it if my parts come and is like he said. Maybe one more week.Butch

Seems like slow going especially when you are excited about getting something for your hotrod, But supposedly it just left the east coast yesterday by the tracking number. Now hope it is what it is suppose to be.

Well I am back and my rubber floor covering came today. Seems like it took awhile but well worth the wait. It is like it just came out of a factory but they were made in 1961. All of you have probably known about him for years but it is Big Rodgers Auto parts. If you look it up on line it is not Rodgers Auto Parts, it is Big Rodgers Auto Parts. He has a great deal of NOS parts. He is rated very high on E-bay although it took me 14 days to get mine. But better product than I expected. So probably not telling anyone anything new but what I got was a great product. Hope it might help someone out.

Boy howdy. Been looking for years. Just got the front not the rear so still looking there. Do any of you know if a 1958 Chevrolet floor covering is the same as a 1961. Fellow I have been talking to that has the rear rubber floor covering thinks it will fit. The front he says is different, not sure on the rear but thinks it might work in a pinch. Anyone out there have more info on that? About ready to buy it and give it a try but 80.00 with shipping. Pay that with no problem but checking closer on the fit. Thanks to all of all you.. B

the rear 58 passenger car full rubber mat measurement is approximately 80" wide (taking the contour of the driveshaft tunnel into consideration). The front tab-to-back of mat measurement is 34". 58 wagon rear rubber mats are even longer due to the exposure under the folding rear seat.

Bumping an old thread.........Anybody know how to get ahold of this guy: Big Rodgers Auto Parts? Have messaged him on Ebay with no luck? Trying to track down a rubber mat(floor covering) in grey for my 61' Biscayne and hoping he may have it?
