I have a TH350 in my 75 shortbed. I want to adjust my modulator to get the shifts to come a little later. How do i go about doing that??

Do you already have an adjustable modulator in the trans? If you do, simply unplug the vacuum line at the valve and insert a small flathead screwdriver into the nipple and adjust it to how it feels best for you. It will take several times to get it right where you want it.

THanks... does turning it clockwise make it shift later or does going counter clockwise make it shift later?? Thanks..

After reading what was above i have been messing with it and all it seems to do as i turn it in is make it shift harder not later. I am trying to make this thing shift about 1500 rpm later. I have a 2400 stall converter in it and when i am about 1/2 to 2/3 throttle it is shifting before the torque converter has locked up all the way causing it to jerk. Some help please!!

it was actually VERY easy... You need some good dikes to cut the original nail so you can change the weights. It made it shift just liked i wanted it to. It took me about 45 min total to get it out, change weights and be back out trying it again!

okay. I have adjusted this govenor a few times. I can actually do it in about 20 min from start to driving away! Anyway, what keeps happening to me is the 1-2 shift comes early and the 2-3 shift is right on. Is there something i am missing here or what? i am running D and F for the weights and Red and Purple for the springs. Any help?

I believe turning my vacuum modulator screw clockwise (looking at the vacuum fitting) dragged my shifts out later and firmed them up a little.
