Finally got her finished. Just in time to put it away for the winter! Took about 4 years but it turned out OK. Color is Brazen Orange, Interior is accented with Deer skin. Hope to get new wheels and tires before Spring........ Took 4 1/2 inches off.

Looks very nice. I personally do not think a tri-5 looks right chopped but it looks good.

Different is good! Looks really Bad As* but I agree it is definately asking for some dark tint on the glass.

Whats wrong with the wheels?

Get in and start cruising. Oh wait.... You are in my home state Iowa. Never mind. Pull it in the garage and get the shovel out.

Congratulations on a job extremely well done. The look is impressively menacing, and is especially amplified by the sedan lines. I don't think a hardtop would ever create that same effect.

Now, a 4" chop to a wagon may be something to think about....

You know now that ya'll mention it, the car is just beggin to be slammed. About the wheels, keep them they are perfect. Save the money and invest in one of those smoothie front bumpers like Dule got.

Looking good man! Beautiful color. Now how in the world do you get in it without putting a knot on your head? Are you built lower to the ground than average? Like 3 feet tall?

Here's a winter time project for you!
1. Slam it!
2. Shave the door handles.
3. Tint

That should just about do it!

The guards are cut down to accent the chop. If I get one of those smooth bumpers that will mean lots of work for nothing. But to be honest I am considering the bumper. Its just really neat.....

I can see from the comments a tint job will be in order. The rear glass is already tinted so the back side glass for sure. We have laws here about the front glass. I'll see what I can do.

Might lower the back some when I swap rear-ends. It could lose a couple inches.

Thanks for all the comments. Its one of those cars you either love or hate. The purists hate it and the Rodders generally like it.

I'm getting proficiant at cutting glass. I can cut the back down and install it in about 2.5 hrs. The windshield takes me about 12 hrs.

Nice job! Very cool looking car.

I think I see that you have both kick panel speakers and A/C vents. Would you mind sharing how they are installed? I'm trying to figure out how to reinstall my V/A A/C side vents with my new speaker kicks in place.

I also really like the cut down guards. I think they would look good on a standard roof car as well.

I notched the emergency break bracket for the drivers side. It's still a tight fit. Pass side was easy. I didn't worry to much about the bracket as they are readily available.

Thanks!

I used a pressure sand blasters from harbor freight on the windshield and back glass. The back glass was laminated.

I like the chop, the stance, the wheels and the chopped bumperetts. Good job.

Are you going to try and install the stainless around the front and rear glass? That might be a nice touch.

Good Job!
I have both a hardtop and a 4 dr, actually thought of chopping the 4 dr, but....
Nawwww...
I really do like the look though....
The others are right, tinted glass, at least along the sides, even at the fairly light legal limits it looks great!
Drop the rear a little, yup!
I'm a fan of those wheels, but also a set of steelies, slightly reversed, chrome or paint with baby moons, or with spyders, would also look great, and give you options.
Aloha,
Willy

I like it just the way it is, but here is what it would look like if you decided to get a smoothie and window tint.

Nice work.

Yeah it definitely needs to be slammed in the rear and in the front maybe a little too. As far as the bumper goes, I think it might even look cool without a front bumper. Drop the back, leaving the front a little higher, and no front bumper might look pretty cool.

As far as wheels. I think the car (especially if you drop it) needs these http://i4.ebayimg.com/03/i/00/98/a2/2b_1.JPG

Spun aluminum caps would look really cool on white walls. And maybe paint the wheels the color of the car against the white wall. Could look cool.

Anyways, nice work and thanks for the pics.

Hal,

Love the look of the 55. FWIW, I'm with those who think the tinted glass will take this car to the next level. However, I like the existing bumper and height:
